In September, "Silver Arrow 2015" military exercise will be organized in Latvia with participation of more than 1,000 foreign troops.
"Silver Arrow 2015" is a joint military exercise of the Latvian and foreign Armed Forces units, and it will be held on September 14-29.
It will take the form of a land force exercise with participation of soldiers from Latvia, Denmark, Canada, Germany, the US and the UK designed improve cooperation among NATO member states, prepare and improve skills in conventional operations and other drills.
Four military exercises - "Silver Arrow", "Summer Shield", "Baltic Zenith" and "Detonator" - previously organised by Latvian Armed Forces as national or international training have been included in NATO Exercise and Training Schedule 2015, and the participation in these exercises are open to all Allied countries.
It is planned that more than 1,000 foreign troops will take part in the "Silver Arrow 2015" exercise.
"Silver Arrow 2014" was organised and led by Latvia and more than 2100 soldiers from Latvia, USA, Greece, Estonia, The United Kingdom and Norway took part. The training was organised to improve cooperation, to prepare and perfect the unit skills of conventional warfare and to improve the cooperation between the Defence Sector and the public authorities of the national and regional level during the support missions carried out by the host country to facilitate hosting and locating the allied military and support units in the territory of Latvia.
