The opinion poll analyzed by the newspaper “Neatkariga Rita Avize Latvijai” shows that 38,5% inhabitants trust National Armed Forces which makes the fourth place among institutions.
The greatest trust is set on educational institutions, church and radio.
The positive rating of schools and universities is +53,5, church +41,1, radio +39,1, National Armed Forces +38,5, State Control +31,6, TV +28,1, printed media +13,5, local municipalities +13,5, news portals +10,9, ombudsman +9,7, hospitals +9, The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) +2,6, according to the SKDS agency research states “Neatkarīga”.
The lowest rating is for Latvian political environment. The negative rating for political parties is -73,4, Saeima -59,6, Cabinet of Ministers -44, banks -41,3, the Bank of Latvia -17,7, courts -14, State President -4,1, State Police -2,4.
The “Eurobarometer74” EU opinion survey in autumn 2010 report showed that the society’s trust in Latvian National Armed Forces has grown by 21% since 2009, accordingly 44 to 65%, ranking number 1 among the institutions included in the survey.
